Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopothy: an event that happens wherein a lack of oxygen causes brain damage.  Click here for more information

Microcephaly: a condition in which the size of the child's head is extremely small due to lack of brain growth.  Caused by neurological problems in the brain.  Click here for more information

Cerebral Palsy: brain damage that effects a patients motor abilities.  Click here for more information


Treatments

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: A therapy in which a patient is put in a chamber which pressurizes the oxygen in the air, thus compressing it and allowing it to get into places in the brain it would not otherwise be able to reach.  This rejuvenates the brain cells and helps rehabilitate the patient.  Click here for more information

Stem Cell Therapy: a process wherein dead cells in a persons body are replaced with live cells.  In the case of this therapy, the stem cells from from umbilical cords and are then processed to ensure safety and compatiblity with the patient.  Was done in Hangzhou, China  Click here for more information
